Arranging Parking Permits for Removals

Moving house is an exciting time and can feel a little overwhelming as it requires the coordination of countless tasks. One of the things to consider when planning your move is parking. When you’re arranging house removals, you may need to secure permits to make sure you can park the vehicles delivering and loading your possessions.

There are a few ways you can do this, depending on your local council. In some areas, you need to apply for a parking suspension, which means the council will suspend the parking regulations for a certain period of time. This is the most common way of arranging parking and will usually require at least seven days notice. To arrange this, you need to contact your local authority and provide information such as your full name and address, the dates and duration of the suspension, and a description of the work.

In other areas, you may need to apply for a Parking Dispensation. This would be the case if, for example, you are renovating your property and need to keep vehicles in the road for an extended period of time. A Parking Dispensation will usually be issued for up to the duration of the work, but you will need to provide evidence of the work. Your professional removals company should be able to provide this evidence.

It is also important to make sure your removals company is insured if they are going to be parking in the road. This is why it is essential to use a reputable and experienced removals firm like Carlin Brown Removals. We have over 20 years’ experience in house removals and can provide you with the necessary documentation and proof of insurance so that you can rest assured that your move is in safe hands.
